Aardwolf
(Proteles cristatus)
Found across eastern and southern Africa, the Aardwolf looks like a small, striped hyena — but has taken a remarkably different path from its bone-crushing relatives. It feeds almost exclusively on termites, lapping up hundreds of thousands in a single night with its broad, sticky tongue. It is one of the most specialized insect-eaters among all carnivorous mammals!
