Siphonophore

Giant Siphonophore
(Praya dubia)

Found in the deep oceans worldwide, the Siphonophore is not one animal but a vast colonial organism made up of thousands of individual zooids, each specialised for a different function — some for movement, some for feeding, some for reproduction — working together as what is effectively a single coordinated body. It can reach lengths of 40 to 50 meters, making it arguably the longest animal on Earth, drifting through the dark ocean like a living curtain!
