Glass Octopus

Glass Octopus
(Vitreledonella richardi)

Found in tropical and subtropical open oceans, the Glass Octopus is almost entirely transparent — its internal organs are visible through its body, and only its cylindrical eyes, optic nerves, and digestive tract are pigmented. Even its ink sac is transparent. Scientists have only observed it in detail relatively recently through deep-sea video footage, and much about its behaviour remains unknown!
