Found in coastal waters and river systems across South and Southeast Asia, the Irrawaddy Dolphin is easily distinguished by its blunt, rounded head and the absence of a beak — giving it an expression closer to a beluga than a typical dolphin. It has a remarkable cooperative relationship with local fishermen in Myanmar and Cambodia, actively herding fish toward nets in response to specific signals, a partnership that benefits both species and has been maintained for generations!
