Found across South and Southeast Asia, the Paradise Tree Snake is a slender, vividly patterned snake with an ability that seems to defy what a snake should be able to do — it can glide through the air between trees. As seen in the gif below, it launches itself from a branch, flattens its body into a concave cross-section, and undulates in mid-air to produce lift and stability, travelling distances of up to 10 meters with remarkable accuracy. It is basically a flying snake!
