Solenodon
(Varies by Species)
Found on the Caribbean islands of Cuba and Hispaniola, the Solenodon is one of the few venomous mammals in the world, delivering venom through a groove in its teeth — similar in mechanism to a snake.
In some species, its snout is supported by a unique bone that extends forward to prop up the cartilage, and is connected to the skull via a ball and socket joint, allowing it to swivel its nose as it roots through leaf litter for prey!
