Found across the forests and grasslands of Asia, a Tiger needs no introduction, so why was this included on the list?
A Tiger’s growl is capable of producing infrasound, low-frequency vibrations below the range of human hearing that travel through the air and ground simultaneously. This is theorized to briefly disorient or even induce a “freeze response” in prey and rivals, which may explain why animals — and people — are seemingly paralyzed in the presence of a tiger before they can consciously process why.
