Vinegaroon
(Varies by Species)
Found in the deserts and scrublands of the Americas and Asia, the Vinegaroon is an arachnid that looks alarming but is actually harmless to humans — it has no venom.
When threatened it sprays a concentrated mist of acetic acid from a gland at the base of its tail, which smells powerfully of vinegar — hence its name.
Its whip-like tail is purely sensory, used to detect vibrations and navigate its surroundings in the dark!
