Anomalocaris

Long before life as we know it dominated the seas, Anomalocaris ruled them. This ancient predator prowled the Cambrian oceans, reaching lengths of up to 90cm, which seems small, but it was the largest known animal of its time.

It hunted using two spiny, grasping appendages at the front of its head and a circular, pineapple-slice-like mouth, and is considered one of the earliest apex predators in the history of complex animal life!
