Cthulhu

Named after the tentacled cosmic horror of H.P. Lovecraft's fiction, this is an ancient fossil that more than earns the comparison. It was a small, soft-bodied sea creature covered in a ring of long, tentacle-like tube feet used for crawling and possibly capturing prey. An ancient relative of modern sea cucumbers and sea urchins — which makes it slightly less terrifying but still deeply unsettling!
