Goblin Shark
(Mitsukurina owstoni)
Quite rare, but they have been found in all three major oceans indicating a worldwide distribution.
Ranges from 3 - 4m (10 - 13ft) in length though some reportedly measure up to 6m (20ft).
Feeds mainly on deep-sea fishes like Rattails and Dragonfishes. It also feeds on Cephalopods and Crustaceans.
Its believed that these sharks can live up to 60 years.
Not only does this shark have a strange snout, its has quite the mouth too... When prey comes into range, its specialized jaws can snap forward like a trap!
