Harpy Eagle
(Harpia harpyja)
Found in the rainforests of Central and South America, the Harpy Eagle is one of the largest and most powerful eagles in the world, with talons the size of a grizzly bear's claws.
The dramatic disc of feathers around its face is thought to function like a satellite dish, directing sound toward its ears to help it locate prey through dense forest canopy.
It feeds primarily on sloths and monkeys, snatching them from the treetops!
