Designation: Goat-Antelope

Habitat: It is endemic to 3 of the 4 main islands of Japan (Northern and Central Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu).

Diet: Feeds primarily on fleshy or coniferous leaves, plant shoots, and acorns.

​​

Size: Around 70 to 85cm (28 to 30in) tall.

​​

Lifecycle: Lives around 20 to 25 years.
