Found across North and Central America, the Kingsnake is a capable and adaptable predator known for its immunity to the venom of rattlesnakes and other pit vipers — which it will readily hunt and eat. 

It is also occasionally prone to one of nature's more embarrassing mistakes — mistaking its own tail for prey and attempting to eat itself, a real-life ouroboros!

The Kingsnake usually stops or is rescued in time before it fully eats itself!
