Lowland Streaked Tenrec
(Hemicentetes semispinosus)
Found in the rainforests of Madagascar, the Lowland Streaked Tenrec is a small, spiky insectivore with a remarkable talent — it is one of the only mammals known to use stridulation to communicate, rubbing specialized quills on its back together to produce ultrasonic signals, a technique more commonly associated with insects than mammals!
