Maned Wolf
(Chrysocyon brachyurus)
Found across the grasslands and scrublands of South America, the Maned Wolf is neither a wolf nor a fox, but its own distinct species — the only member of its genus. Its extraordinarily long legs help it see over tall grass, giving it a slightly stilted, almost comical gait. When threatened, it raises the distinctive black mane along its neck and shoulders to appear significantly larger and more intimidating!
