Rainbow Sea Slug
(Babakina anadoni)
Feeds on Hydroids (small, stinging creatures) and steals their stinging cells for their own protection.
Lives for a few weeks to 1 year.
Like other sea slugs, the Rainbow Sea Slug starts its life as a Veliger, a plankton that drifts throughout the ocean which allows them to travel to new reefs before they settle down. They actually have a tiny transparent shell in this form which goes away when they are fully grown.
