Saola

Saola
(Pseudoryx nghetinhensis)

Found only in the Annamite Mountains along the border of Vietnam and Laos, the Saola is so rarely encountered that it has been nicknamed the "Asian Unicorn." First discovered by scientists only in 1992, it has never been observed in the wild by a researcher, and camera trap footage represents some of the only visual evidence that it still exists at all. Its current population is entirely unknown!

One of the very few photos in existence of a wild Saola!
