Sensitive Plant
(Mimosa pudica)
Found across tropical regions worldwide, the Sensitive Plant is one of the most interactive plants you can encounter. Touch it, and its leaves fold inward and droop within seconds, driven by changes in water pressure within specialized cells at the base of each leaflet. It reopens after a few minutes. What makes it truly fascinating is that it can learn — repeated non-harmful stimulation causes it to stop responding, demonstrating a form of memory in a plant with no nervous system whatsoever.
