Designation: Venomous Snake

Habitat: It is mostly found in Africa with a limited distribution in the Middle East.

Diet: Feeds on frogs and small mammals but their main diet consists of burrowing reptiles found in old termite mounds.

Size: Ranges from 30 to 50cm (12 to 20in) in length though it varies based on species.

Lifecycle: Reports indicate a life cycle of around 12 to 20 years.

Unlike other venomous snakes, Stiletto Snakes have the ability to strike from the sides of their head, without ever having to open its mouth!
