Thread-Wing Antlion
(Varies by Species)
They are primarily found in arid regions such as parts of Africa, the Middle East, and Southern Europe.
Ranges from 3mm - 1cm (0.1 - 0.3in).
Feeds on small Invertebrates like Mites, Springtails, Ants, even Spiders.
Lives for around 2 - 3 years.
This Antlion has a long neck for a reason! Unlike other Antlions that dig pits, this one hides under fine dust in dry caves or rock shelters and use their "neck" to reach prey while its body stays hidden!

As an adult they change in appearance significantly transforming into a flying insect that feeds on nectar and pollen with its elongated duck bill like face.
